Job Overview
The Neuroradiology Department is part of the Radiology Directorate at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, which is one of the top units in the UK providing a comprehensive range of specialist procedures, tests, and treatments for all types of neurological conditions.
Neuroradiology is equipped with two MRI scanners, a CT scanner; and we are also responsible for scheduling two mobile MR scanners.
In Neuroradiology you will work as part of a small multidisciplinary team, providing high quality patient care. We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team in Neuroradiology and work alongside our existing team. as a clerk. Your role will involve scheduling appointments for a CT scanner and four MRI scanners.

Main duties of the job
This role is based in Neuroradiology at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. In the role of clerk, you will be covering reception and assisting the team in booking appointment for both CT and MRI scanners. You will be involved in answering patient queries and providing information to patients regarding their appointments. You will become competent the use of the Radiology Information System (RIS) to schedule appointments, in the use of our PACS system and in the use of e-record. Experience of working in the NHS will be of advantage but is not essential
You will provide a comprehensive and efficient administrational service to the Neuroradiology Department, and you should have a genuine desire to contribute to providing a quality service for patients You must demonstrate you have the potential for development to be become a confident member of the team with excellent motivation and communication skills. You will need to have problem solving ability and to have the ability to work effectively in a team or independently.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Working within a team of administrative staff supporting the provision of an efficient secretarial support service to Consultants, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff within their team, i.e. Specialist Nurses
Audio typing of letters and documents
Deal with telephone enquires promptly
Communicate with patients regarding appointments and admissions at the request of medical staff
Cover admin posts Trust wide as required

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
Minimum of 4 GCSEs, Level 9 – 4 (A* - C), including English Language, or equivalent level qualification or relevant experience
OCR I or equivalent qualification / experience
Understanding of confidentiality issues
Desirable criteria
Successful completion of an intermediate (level 2) apprenticeship in Business Administration
