π Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US (Hybrid) πΌ Employment Type: INTERN π Work Mode: Hybrid
π Hybrid Job: This position offers hybrid work model.
π° Salary: Not Disclosed
π Job Description:
Framewell is a Pittsburgh-based HealthTec startup building an AI-powered tool that helps everyday people understand complex healthcare paperwork and decisions with clarity, confidence, and dignity.
Weβre looking for a UI/UX Design Intern who can help translate early product direction into a crisp, accessible, trustworthy experience. Youβll work directly with the founder and other team members and collaborate closely with engineering to get designs into a working prototype quickly.
Responsibilities
β’ Turn rough wireframes/flows into clean, high-fidelity UI for a web-first product
β’ Create clickable prototypes that communicate interaction, hierarchy, and motion (lightweight, not overproduced)
β’ Establish and maintain a small design system (type scale, spacing, components, accessibility standards)
β’ Conduct quick user feedback loops (especially with older adults) and iterate based on what you learn
β’ Produce dev-ready handoff artifacts (component specs, states, edge cases, and annotations)
β’ Advocate for accessibility and clarity: WCAG-minded design, readable layouts, low-friction interactions
Requirements
β’ Current student or recent graduate in Design/HCI/UX (or equivalent portfolio experience)
β’ Strong proficiency in Figma (or comparable tool) and an ability to work fast without losing polish
β’ A portfolio showing UI craft + UX reasoning (class projects are fine if theyβre real work)
β’ Strong communication: you can explain tradeoffs, not just aesthetics
Nice to Have (Not Required)
β’ Experience designing for accessibility and/or older users
β’ Basic understanding of front-end feasibility (HTML/CSS/React concepts)
β’ Interest in healthcare consumer products
Logistics
β’ Location: Pittsburgh, PA (hybrid; schedule flexible)
β’ Timing: Target start in early January, finish by end of February or middle of March. (With potential of receiving a full-time offer as soon as the Summer of '26)
β’ Compensation: Paid internship (details shared in the first call)
