The Alliance for American Leadership (A4AL) is a bipartisan coalition of foreign policy experts and young professionals committed to restoring American credibility and effectiveness abroad. They are currently seeking a Legislative Relations Intern to join their team remotely.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to provide administrative and research support across multiple teams as they engage in congressional outreach, policy strategy, and public affairs work.
Key Responsibilities
The Legislative Intern will support the team through the following critical tasks:
Congressional Tracking: Maintain internal tracking systems for congressional engagement, including logs of outreach, meetings, and follow-up.
Research & Organization: Assist in preparing and organizing briefing materials, maintaining contact databases, and tracking bill progress and hearing schedules.
Meeting Support: Take notes during virtual briefings or committee hearings and keep team members informed of relevant legislative updates.
Documentation: Format and proofread memos and coordinate internal document storage to ensure consistency and accessibility.
Who Should Apply?
A4AL is looking for reliable and detail-oriented candidates who meet the following criteria:
Skills: Strong written communication skills and high organizational ability are required.
Interests: A strong interest in Congress, foreign policy, or nonprofit advocacy is preferred.
Technical Familiarity: Familiarity with platforms such as Congress.gov or C-SPAN is a plus.
Attributes: Must be detail-oriented and reliable in a remote work environment.
