You will monitor the performance of major utility programs.

  • Review: Track current and planned EM&V activities conducted by program administrators (like NYSERDA and major utilities).

1. Educational Background

  • Enrollment: Applicants should be enrolled in a graduate program (though undergraduate rates are listed, the description emphasizes graduate coursework).
  • Relevant Coursework: Experience with statistical analysis, sampling techniques, and evaluation methodologies is highly desired.

2. Skills & Competencies

  • Data Synthesis: Strong skills in generating actionable insights from data (quantitative analysis + qualitative interpretation).
  • Sector Interest: A strong desire to work in renewable energy, building electrification, and distributed energy resources.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills are required to synthesize complex data into easily understood findings.

<>Compensation & Logistics
  • Pay Rate:
    • Graduate Interns: $21.22 per hour.

<>Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What is "EM&V"?
A: EM&V stands for Evaluation, Measurement, and Verification. It is the process of using data to prove that an energy efficiency project (like upgrading insulation in a building) actually saved the energy it claimed to save.

Q: Is this open to Undergraduates?
A: Yes, an undergraduate pay rate is listed ($19.10/hr), but the "Applicants should be enrolled in a graduate program" line suggests a preference for Master's/PhD students. Strong undergrads with stats experience should still apply.

Q: Is it remote?
A: It is Hybrid. You likely need to be based near Albany to come into the office occasionally, but some work can be done from home.
