Northeastern State University (NSU) is currently seeking an organized and efficient Administrative Assistant to support the Center for Teaching and Learning in Tahlequah, OK. This role is pivotal in maintaining university operations, involving a variety of administrative tasks ranging from budget management to marketing.
This position is ideal for candidates with prior office experience who are familiar with university policies and possess strong customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant will manage a diverse range of duties, including:
Office Management: Answer telephones, greet visitors, maintain files, sort mail, and order office supplies.
Financial Support: Process purchase orders and card statements, and assist in the development and management of assigned budgets.
Coordination: Make travel arrangements, manage calendars, and assist in coordinating conferences and special events.
Communications: Prepare correspondence, record meeting minutes, and design marketing/promotional materials.
Supervision: Direct the work of student employees as assigned.
Digital Presence: Maintain the department's website and social media accounts.
Eligibility Criteria
NSU is looking for candidates with a mix of education and practical experience:
Education: Knowledge associated with an Associate's degree or specialized training in the field.
Experience: Sufficient experience (1-2 years) to understand basic principles, usually associated with an apprenticeship or similar position.
Knowledge: Familiarity with university policies, purchasing procedures, and modern office practices.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in computers and job-related software programs.
Soft Skills: Strong customer service, oral, and written communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: Approximately $28,000 per year.
