This internship offers a unique "behind-the-scenes" look at the insurance industry. Interns will gain exposure to the entire lifecycle of a workers' compensation claim, from intake to investigation and resolution, while working onsite at a company known for excellence in execution.
Detailed Role & Key Responsibilities
As a Claims Intern, you will be an integral part of the team, shadowing experienced professionals and contributing to real work. Key responsibilities include:
1. Claims Investigation & Shadowing
Shadowing: Work closely with experienced claims reps and specialists to handle injured workers' claims through completion.
Investigation: Investigate facts related to claims by interviewing policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and physicians.
Document Review: Review police reports, medical treatment records, and bills to build a complete picture of the claim.
2. Program Development
Innovation: Help enhance the claims representative training program by creating innovative methods for information dissemination.
Customer Experience: Provide an unparalleled customer experience for all stakeholders involved in the process.
Eligibility Criteria & Schedule
LWCC has very specific scheduling requirements for this program. Applicants must meet the following:
1. Availability (Crucial)
Must be available to work from June 2, 2026 to July 30, 2026.
Must be able to work 21 hours per week.
Specific Days: Work schedule is Tuesday through Thursday.
