This is a prestigious opportunity for law students to work directly with the Senior Legal Counsel. You will gain hands-on experience in corporate, commercial, securities, and real estate transactions within one of Canada's largest residential landlords.


Detailed Role & Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Intern, you will not just be doing research; you will be integrated into the business operations. Key responsibilities include:

1. Transactional & Corporate Support

  • Real Estate Transactions: Work with the Investment Department to negotiate, manage, and close real estate transactions.
  • Corporate Secretarial: Assist in preparing board materials and coordinating regulatory filings.
  • Contract Management: Review and draft commercial agreements (professional services, marketing, technology) and standardize templates.

2. Legal Advisory & Research

  • Research: Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda.
  • Communication: Respond to legal requests from internal clients, translating complex legal concepts into easy-to-understand business language.
  • Drafting: Draft template notices, releases, and standard documents for operations teams.

Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?

1. Educational Status (Crucial)

  • Must be currently enrolled in the 2nd or 3rd year of Law School (JD or LLB program).
