Corcept Therapeutics, a pioneer in the research and development of cortisol modulators, is hiring an Oncology Medical Affairs Intern for Summer 2026. This position is based at their headquarters in Redwood City, CA.
This is a high-level biotechnology internship designed for students in Life Sciences or Business who want to bridge the gap between hard science and strategic business objectives. You will gain deep exposure to Corcept’s oncology pipeline, learning how clinical data is translated into medical strategy and commercial success.
Detailed Role & Key Responsibilities
As a Medical Affairs Intern, you will support the Medical Strategy team in connecting scientific knowledge with business goals. Key responsibilities include:
1. Strategic Content Development
You will be involved in creating materials that communicate complex scientific data to the medical community.
Content Creation: Assist in developing slide decks, literature summaries, FAQs, and post-congress reports.
Literature Review: Conduct searches using databases like PubMed and summarize relevant data to support medical strategy.
Pipeline Analysis: Gain a deep understanding of Corcept’s oncology clinical data and specific programs.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
KOL Interaction: Gain experience interacting with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) through potential "Field Rides," congress engagements, or advisory boards.
Advisory Boards: Support the planning and content development for Medical Advisory Board meetings.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Teamwork: Participate in meetings with Regulatory, Marketing, and Clinical Development teams to understand integrated planning.
Presentations: Deliver a department presentation at the end of the program and participate in a company-wide intern group project.
Eligibility Criteria: Who Can Apply?
Corcept is looking for enthusiastic collaborators who are ready to work onsite. Requirements include:
1. Educational Background
Degree: Currently pursuing a degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field (Undergraduate or Graduate).
GPA: Minimum GPA of 3.0.
2. Skills & Competencies
Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with literature databases (e.g., PubMed) is a strong plus.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for content development.
Soft Skills: Great interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to build relationships in a matrix environment.
3. Logistics
Onsite Requirement: Must be able to work at the Redwood City office for the full duration. No relocation assistance is available.
Availability: Must complete at least 10 consecutive weeks between June and August (40 hours/week).
Authorization: Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis (No H1B sponsorship).
