Detailed Role & Key Responsibilities
As a senior intern (P3), you are expected to take on leadership tasks and advanced clinical duties. Your responsibilities include:
1. Clinical & Patient Care
You will actively participate in patient health outcomes, not just transaction processing.
Counseling & Education: Offer counseling on medication therapy, field medical questions, and solicit patient history under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Immunizations: Administer vaccines (flu, COVID, etc.) and educate patients on their importance, subject to state regulations and certification.
Provider Coordination: Take telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate therapeutic interchanges.
2. Operational Leadership
Workflow Management: Rotate through all pharmacy stations (production, drop-off, drive-thru) to ensure efficient prescription fulfillment.
Mentorship: Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy technicians and newer team members.
Inventory Control: Manage cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and medication deliveries to maintain accurate inventory levels.
3. Safety & Compliance
